Murky waters

9/30/2019

I can see the bottom,

The water, crystal clear.

A Dragonfly passes by,

I know that you are near.

The water floods in calmly,

There is no storm in sight,

The Lilly pads are dancing,

Their buds in pink and white.

I hold you in my hands,

and read our wedding vows.

Then slowly spread your ashes,

They do not make a sound.

The water becomes cloudy,

I watch you disappear,

What's left of you dissolving,

I wish that you were here.

There's stillness in the air,

A Crane begins to fly.

The water is now murky,

As I say one last goodbye.
